I want to start by thanking everyone who contributed to the Business Brilliance poll last week.

I asked you what task you love to hate most about work. What did we discover?

You hate reporting! Yep, that’s right. Reporting.

Interesting, isn’t it?

It’s piqued my curiosity. I love to help, so I thought we’d drill down a little more.

What is it about reporting that you love to hate?

  • Is it that you find the task boring or tedious?
  • Maybe it occurs to you as time-consuming?
  • Perhaps you’re not interested in what others are doing?
  • Or maybe you just don’t see the point of reporting?
  • Is it something else?

I’ve created a poll to make it easy for you to help me help you. I’ve come up with some reasons why it might challenge you, but by all means, let me know if I’ve missed off something from the list.

Next week I’ll explore the attitude that may be causing you to resist reporting. You’ll become mindful of how this colours your whole view of reporting.
